Stay up to date with all the current injuries that happened this past week to determine what you should do with your rosters before your waiver wires run! We will update these injuries throughout to week to reflect practice participation and expectations heading into this upcoming week.
The Training Room
|Player||Position||Team||Injury||Recovery For Timetable||Potential Pickup||Comments|
|Eddie Lacy||RB||Seahawks||Strained Groin||2-3 Weeks||Thomas Rawls||Lacy injured his groin against the Redskins and did not return. With the Seahawks scheduled to play Thursday night, it is highly unlikely that Lacy would be ready for that game.|
|Dez Bryant||WR||Cowboys||High Ankle Sprain||Week to Week, could miss at least 4 weeks depending on severity||Terrance Williams, Cole Beasley||Bryant’s ankle was rolled up on and the mechanism of his ankle injury was of the high ankle variety. Bryant’s pain and swelling in his ankle over the next few days will be critical to determine whether or not he’ll be available anytime soon. High ankle sprains are usually multi-week injuries, but early reports are that his injury isn’t considered to be serious.|
|Jameis Winston||QB||Buccaneers||Sprained Shoulder||Week to Week||Ryan Fitzpatrick||Winston played the first half but was relieved by Ryan Fitzpatrick in the 2nd half. Winston has been dealing with a sprained AC joint for a few weeks now and can’t seem to avoid aggravations each game. I think the Bucs might finally sit him in hopes he can get healthier.|
|Terrance Williams||WR||Cowboys||high ankle sprain||Week to week, potentially could miss at least 4 weeks.||Cole Beasley||Much like Dez, Williams also suffered a high ankle sprain that could cost him a few weeks depending on the amount of pain and/or swelling that will occur over the next few days. He’s another person to keep an eye on as well heading into Week 10.|
|Demarco Murray||RB||Titans||Sprained Knee||Day to Day||Derrick Henry||Murray continues to try and play through a myriad of injuries and has been ineffective doing so as of late. The Titans may be in a position to either scale his workload back to keep him healthier or to just sit him out all together to let him recover faster.|
|Trent Taylor||WR||49ers||Rib Injury||Week to Week||Victor Bolden, Aldrick Robinson||Taylor is believed to have suffered multiple rib fractures during Week 9’s game against the Cardinals. With the 49ers having a Week 11 bye, there’s a good chance they hold Taylor out Week 10 to give him a few weeks to get closer to 100% in Week 12.|
Wondering when a player is going to return from either an injury or a suspension? See below for our On The Radar section, which goes over players that are recovering from an injury sustained in previous weeks and what their timetables are for returning to the field.
On The Radar
|Player||Position||Team||Injury||Timetable For Recovery||Potential Pickup||Comments|
|C.J. Prosise||RB||Seahawks||Sprained Ankle||Day to Day||J.D. McKissic||There was some optimism that Prosise would’ve been ready to play Week 9, but it sounds like the Seahawks didn’t want to take their chances. The Seahawks play Thursday night, so we should have a better indication early this week if Prosise will suit up for Week 10. He looks more likely to do so since he was held out.|
|Zach Ertz||TE||Eagles||Strained Hamstring||Week to Week||Brent Celek||Ertz did not feel comfortable in warm-ups this past week with his hamstring, so the Eagles decided to hold him out. With the Eagles on bye in Week 10, there’s a good chance Ertz should be fine for Week 11.|
|Jordan Reed||TE||Redskins||Strained Hamstring||2-3 Weeks||Vernon Davis||Reed will continue to rehab and recovery from a hamstring injury in hopes to return sooner than later. Like we’ve discussed previously, Reed does struggle to return from soft tissue injuries, so he’s no guarantee to be ready for Week 10 against Minnesota.|
|Sam Bradford||QB||Vikings||Knee Bone Bruise||3-4 Weeks||Case Keenum, Teddy Bridgewater||Bradford has yet to return to practice, and with Teddy Bridgewater potentially returning this week, there might not be any rush for Bradford to return in hopes that they can get his knee figured out.|
|Chris Hogan||WR||Patriots||Sprained Shoulder||Week to Week||Phillip Dorsett||We’ll hopefully get a better idea of Hogan’s status early this week as the Patriots come out of their bye. It’s unlikely that we’ll get any indication if he’ll be ready for Week 10, but any participation in practice is an encouraging sign.|
|Teddy Bridgewater||QB||Vikings||Knee Surgery||Day to Day||Case Keenum||The Vikings are planning on activating Bridgewater Week 10, so he’s eligible to potentially start if the Vikings feel confident that he’s ready. It would be hard to predict just how well Bridgewater would fare in his first game back, but he could provide some upside if he’s able to prove that he’s healthy.|
|Terrance West||RB||Ravens||Strained Calf||Week to Week||Alex Collins||The Ravens are on bye this week, so hopefully West will be able to return to practice after their bye. With Danny Woodhead close to returning as well, it is going to be a crowded backfield for West to have an impact.|
|Jamison Crowder||WR||Redskins||Strained Hamstring||Week to Week||Josh Doctson, Terelle Pryor||Crowder is still trying to recover from a hamstring injury, so hopefully he’ll be able to return to practice this week. He wasn’t close to returning in Week 9, so he’ll need to string practices together this week without setback to feel confident that he’s trending in the right direction.|
|Kenny Golladay||WR||Lions||Strained Hamstring||Week to Week||Marvin Jones||Golladay did get a limited practice in late this week, but apparently it wasn’t enough to convince the Lions training staff to have him play this week. Look for him to return to practice early next week in hopes he doesn’t have any issues before Week 10.|
|Martellus Bennett||TE||Packers||Sprained Shoulder||Week to Week||Lance Kendricks, Richard Rodgers|
|Corey Coleman||WR||Browns||Broken Hand||Week to Week||Kenny Britt||Coleman is returning to practice this week after being designated to return from IR for the Browns. The Browns will have 3 weeks to activate him and put him on the active roster, which would be a welcomed site for them. Coleman should step into his normal role when he is activated and I wouldn’t expect the Browns to limit him in any way when he does return.|
|Andrew Luck||QB||Colts||Shoulder Labral Repair||Out For Season||Jacoby Brissett||What a disastrous 2017 season for Luck. The Colts will shut his throwing program down and focus mainly on just rehabbing the shoulder in hopes that the discomfort he’s dealing with corrects itself. Surgery is still an option should he not show any progress, but this is something to keep an eye on for the future.|
|David Johnson||RB||Cardinals||Wrist Surgery||Eligible to return Week 12||Adrian Peterson||Coach Arians recently told reporters that it was doubtful that Johnson would return this year from his wrist surgery. With the Cardinals in flux with Carson Palmer going down with an injury, there’s a possibility that they shut Johnson down depending on if the Cardinals start to lose. Add in the fact that they have Adrian Peterson, and it’s not a lock that Johnson returns this season.|
|Charles Clay||TE||Bills||Knee Surgery||Week to Week||Nick O’Leary||Clay was able to do some running this past week and is trending in the right direction. There’s a good chance he returns to practice this week with the possibility he returns Week 10.|
|Greg Olsen||TE||Panthers||Foot Surgery||Eligible to Week 12||Ed Dickson||Olsen is eligible to return to practice. Hopefully he’ll ramp up his activities and not experiencing any soreness which will allow him to return in Week 12.|
|Aaron Rodgers||QB||Packers||Collarbone Surgery||Eligible to return Week 15||Brent Hundley||Adam Schefter reports that Rodgers could start throwing around 6 weeks after surgery. While this is definitely possible, there are still a lot of things that need to occur just to get to that point.|
|Danny Woodhead||RB||Ravens||Strained Hamstring||Eligible to return Week 11||Alex Collins, Jarvoris Allen||Woodhead returned to practice and looks to be ready to return when the Ravens come out of their bye. Add him now if you have the roster flexibility.|
|Carson Palmer||QB||Cardinals||Broken Arm||Eligible to return Week 16||Drew Stanton, Blaine Gabbert||Palmer is droppable in all leagues as he will not make it back to make an impact for fantasy football purposes.|
